HomeFolk is a shared app for managing your home's chores and grocery lists. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain because that is how we would want it explained to us.
Who we are
HomeFolk is an independent app made by a small team. You can reach us any time at [email protected].
What we collect
- Your email address. When you join the waitlist or sign in, we use a quick email sign-in with a 6-digit code, so we hold your email address. We do not ask for a password.
- What you add to the app. The tasks, chores, grocery items, list names, and the names and colours you give household members. This is the content the app exists to share with the people you live with.
- Basic technical information. Standard details like device type and app version that help us keep the service running and fix problems.
How we use it
- To run the service: storing your home's lists and syncing them live across everyone in your household.
- To send you essential email: your sign-in code, and (if you joined the waitlist) a note when the app is ready.
- To keep the service secure, reliable, and improving over time.
We do not show ads, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone. Ever.
The waitlist
If you joined the waitlist, we use your email only to tell you about the launch and send the occasional update. You can ask us to remove you at any time by emailing [email protected], and we will delete your address.
Who we share it with
Your home's content is shared with the members of your own household, and no one else. We rely on a few trusted service providers to operate, who only process data on our behalf:
- Supabase stores your account and your home's data.
- Resend delivers our emails (sign-in codes and waitlist notes).
We may disclose information if the law requires it, but that is the exception, not the routine.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and its data at any time by emailing [email protected], and we will take care of it.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No service can promise perfect security, but we treat your home's information with care.
Children
HomeFolk is meant for running a household and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If we make a meaningful change, we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, let you know in the app or by email.
